Kai the Penguin

Halloween is definitely funner with a little one in the home. I didn't know what to dress Kai up as this year, but stuck to the "child" like costume since he wont be willing to wear these types of costumes soon. Remembering how he hated the monkey and the lion costume last year, I knew I had my work cut out for me. He absolutely positively HATED the penguin cap and hat, but nothing a little bribe couldn't resolve. Every time I'd put on the penguin hat and outfit, I'd feed him Yogurt. Soon enough, he would forget completely about the silly little cap and hat!
Well, we went to my Grandma Turner's home first. At first, he didn't know what was going on, but once he saw that he could take bunch of candy from one bowl and put it into another (his basket), this trick or treat business became much funner for him. The problem was, he wouldn't stop taking candy until he got ALL the candy out from Grandma Turner's bowl and into his basket. He doesn't even know what candy is, but he LOVES being able to move little objects from one place into another. He was busy all night moving candy from the candy bowl into his basket...and right back into the candy bowl again! It was raining really bad so we didn't take him around the neighborhood, but he got his treats from Grandma & Grandpa Turner's house, Nana & Grandpa Scott's house, and Grandpa and Tutu's house. What a fun night!

The very scary football game was finally over

Once the game was over, Kai was much happier. He got to snuggle up to Grandpa, play with the football, run around on the field. But, Tutu probably got the raw end of the deal. She was watching Kai and playing with him the entire game, but once it was over, Kai went straight to Grandpa. Even when we took pictures, Kai did not want to share Grandpa, and was trying to push Tutu away! Poor Tutu.

The very scary football game

Jason had a football game at 6pm (instead of the normal 7pm) so I decided to finally take Kai to a game. I'd taken him to couple games when he was a baby, so I thought he would be fine now that he was older. Boy was I WRONG!!! We all sat down and everything was fine until we got a great tackle. The crowd started screaming....and so did Kai. He was so scared that he literally stopped breathing, moved his arms up and down until he finally got enough air to scream!! Once he calmed down, I took him back to the bleachers, but again, this moment of peace only lasted until the next tackle and the crowd started cheering. He loves Grandpa so he was cuddling with Grandpa....until Grandpa forgot all about Kai and started yelling at the refs. Kai started screaming again! He then went to Grandma and was doing fine...until Grandma yelled. Mommy then came to the rescue...so he thought. Even Mommy got too into the game and yelled....which made Kai scream again. Poor thing was just going through a roller coaster of emotions! I took him under the bleachers where he was walking and playing, but every cheer from the crowd got Kai all upset. Finally, Tutu had to take him to the patch of grass way behind the bleachers...and that's where he stayed for the rest of the game. He was much happier playing on the grass with Tutu than with all of us on the bleachers. What an emotional night!

Kai's Blankie

Kai absolutely LOVES his blankie. He will lay it out in random places and put his head on it. He'll do it on the kitchen floor, his bedroom floor, in the car, on a box, etc. Jason and I would be doing something, turn, and find Kai on the ground snuggling up to his blankie...he loves it....it's so cute!

Wind in my hair

Kai just grins ear to ear whenever he feels the wind in his hair. This day, it was super duper windy....so bad that even Jason and I had a hard time walking. Chairs were falling over, car doors wouldn't stay open, etc. Well, Kai got a taste of the wind when took him from grandpa & Tutu's house to the car....well, when we got home, all he saw wanted to do was go outside. After a few "Peese?" from Kai, we finally gave in. He was literally pushing away from Jason wanting to get more wind in his hair! He was sooo happy!!! You can almost see the wind pushing back Kai's cheeks!

Splish Splash I was taking a bath

Kai LOVES his bath time, but who says parents can't have a little fun too. His hair was getting so long and you know it's time for a hair cut when you can do this...

I'm stuck!

Kai wanted to get onto the bench/chair then onto the table to get his drink. One problem....the bench was pushed under the table so he couldn't get up once he hoisted his body onto the bench. He kept trying to sit up, but kept hitting the bottom of the table every time.
I guess I could have helped him or showed him how to get "unstuck" but I think I'll let him figure it out himself.
