Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day!
We celebrated Father's Day for the first time in our new home. Kai and I made pancakes and bacon for Jason. Kai gave Jason a Wii Fit exercise aerobic board....and wrapped it in spiderman wrapping paper. Kai and Jason then watched Finding Nemo. It was a fun day....Kai has the best daddy in the whole world!

Messy Boy

Not only does Kai get into the cupboard with all of his "snacks", but he manages to rip one of the bags open and spill the chips all over the floor. Sadly, this was the 3rd time he'd done this that day. AND, once he dumped out all the chips in a pile, he would make sure that he scattered it all over the floor. I would sweep it all up in a pile, and he would go right back and scatter it. I finally had to just laugh and take a picture. I guess he was committed to making a mess.

Mmm Ice Cream

Kai finally got his taste of Ice Cream. I tried to hold off as long as possible, but we gave in. I think he liked it...a lot! Kai just kept holding firm to Jason's hand so that Jason couldn't take the ice cream cone away from his face!

Umi Goggles ON

On Kai's FAVORITE TV show, UMIZOOMI, they yell "Umi Goggles...ON!". Then, the characters on the show puts their hands around their eyes as if they are looking through binoculars. Kai started doing this too....sort of....but he only puts his index fingers on his forehead. (I think to him, that's what they are doing) Not quite the same, but I guess it's close enough! If we yell "Umi Goggles...ON!", Kai will put his fingers up to his forehead. It's so funny.

Kai LOVES the water. He'll go anywhere there's water....shower (after Jason or I have taken a shower), toilet (yuck!), sink, etc. He's a handful to watch since he just gravitates towards water! Well, I didn't have a kids pool for him so I just filled a plastic bowl with water, put some mini bowls and other kitchen utensils in it, and let him play on the balcony. He had a blast! the hard part was, he would keep tipping the bowl and dumping the water out...he loved listening to the water gush down to the ground under the balcony. Every time I would fill up the bowl and turn around, I'd hear the big splash...only to find that Kai had dumped the water out. So, I had to keep going back and forth refilling the bowl. It was worth it though. thank goodness that Tutu was there to help keep an eye on him. He got his PJs soaked so we had to change him into his "summer" outfit. I loved watching him have fun.

trip to the park

We have this fun park about 10 minutes away from our house. We took Kai and he just loved being outside. His favorite thing is to pickup rocks and throw it somewhere else. He'll take rocks from one location and place it in another location. He can do this for at least 30 minutes. Not sure why this is so fun, but it sure keeps him occupied!
He then found out how fun it was to push the stroller around. We just had to be careful that he wasn't going to run over any other kids!
I never really cared about Summer before, but now with Kai, I LOVE Summer! I love being able to go to the park and just hang out. So Fun!

what are you blowing at?

Kai loves saimen. But, it's always too hot for him when it first comes off the stove. So, like all moms, I blow on the noodles so it cools down. Kai then started blowing on the noodles with me every time he would see the steam from the noodles.
Well, we were at Bed Bath and Beyond when Kai started blowing. "Kai, what are you blowing at?"...I started looking around to see what he was blowing at...I then find the humidifier with what Kai thought was "steam" coming out of it. He was actually blowing at it thinking it was "hot"!
Isn't it amazing how kids see the world so differently than us? I love seeing the world from Kai's eyes. it is so full of new things. The world is all of a sudden so much funner with Kai.

Cafe Rio

I just found this picture on my iphone. We were working on giving Kai table food. Jason and I went to Cafe Rio...I gave Kai some of my pork salad...thinking he would just spit it back out...but he loved it! he kept eating more and more. he loved the pulled pork, the beans, and even the tortilla. Finally! something besides baby food and mushy cereal that Kai will eat! I'm shocked that he actually liked mexican food...since it's not really my favorite. More things that he takes after Jason! (this was back on May 31st...I just finally got around to uploading the picture from my phone onto the computer).

a day at the office

Kai and I went to visit Jason at his office for lunch (awhile ago)...Kai found these cones and as Jason would stack them up, Kai would break it down. We now call him Destructo Boy. Anything that can be torn down, broken, or destroyed, Kai will take care of it! He would mess up the cones and clap saying "yay!" (the pictures are a little dark because it was taken with the iphone)

chocolate

Mika: "Jason, did you give Kai Chocolate?"
Jason: "No"
Mika: "Then what's that all over his face?"
Jason: "Oh, well maybe a little bit...he likes it"
Why is it that the moms are the only ones worried about their kids getting proper nutrients!?
He sure did enjoy it! he's a messy eater so he wont be able to hide anything from mommy!

down goes the drums

Kai loves throwing things....and now, he's found joy in throwing things down the slide. He just loves exploring new ways to play with his toys.

Hawaii July 2011

Kai's first Zippy's experience! He liked the chilli!
The day at the beach! Kai was a little hesitant at first and didn't like the sand on his feet, but then we finally got him in the ocean and he LOVED the water.
 Lunch at Willows...yummy!

At uncle James and Aunty Simone's reception. Kai found the air conditioning unit. he loved standing in front of it since it kept blowing on him. (although it was warm air!). He loves the wind! (even fake ones)

Family photo at the beach! Thank you Brooke..she takes awesome pictures. It was super windy so it was difficult keeping our hair and clothes from blowing all over the place, but we had so much fun. We even saw Sea Turtles!
