Uncle James and Me

James and Syd came to Utah to visit with us! It was so fun to spend time with them. Here's Kai with Uncle James. If you look close, you can actually see the family resemblance!

where did my pacifier go?

Kai was playing with the swiffer mop and when he lifted it, it accidentally took his pacifier with him...he brought it right back so that the pacifier was right where it was supposed to be. (PS. Kai's shirt says "mommy's little monkey". which is perfect since we call Kai "monkey"! I had to buy it as soon as I saw it.)

Hello Family!

Kai with my cousin Seth and his little girl Emma. She was so precious...she actually pushed Kai around on that airplane for 2 hours! She's set a standard that will be difficult to keep up!

What have I done?!

Before....

After...

My Biggest regret ever!!! I cut Kai's hair!!!
Jason kept saying that we needed to cut his hair since it was getting long...and even though I kept saying NO....I finally gave in and cut his hair! We put Umizoomi on so that he would be distracted, but it only worked part of the time. AND, one major problem...I have no clue how to cut hair! And this was very apparent once I took the first snip....right on top of his head! Then, I cut the back of his hair to cut the tail off...well, I guess I pulled down the hair too much so that when I cut it, it actually cut way more off and now he had a bowl cut! I kept cutting trying to "fix" my disaster but it kept getting worse and worse. The end result was awful and I feel terrible that I've done this to him! All I could do was cry. Everyone just says "it'll grow back" which is another word for "it is funny looking, but it'll be better later". Poor Poor Kai. (Ash and Charity thought he looked like the boy from Ponyo...which is so true! LOL) It also didn't help when all that Jason could keep saying once it was all over was "I told you to stop cutting!" Definitely not a good day for us. (this was back on March 27 so it's grown back a bit now)

socks!

Kai loves....taking off his socks? I'm not sure why, but he has been infatuated with his socks and feet lately. Every morning, when we go to get him in his crib, every time we take him out of his car seat...he's taken his socks off his feet and is sucking on his socks. He then plays with his toes and feet like its a new toy. I then have to put wet socks on his feet... so I think I'm going to have to keep an extra pair of socks in the car or in my purse!

I love my daddy!!

Kai is such a daddy's boy. He will always choose to have his Daddy pick him up than Mommy. It's kind of sad for me, but it's so sweet to watch him be so happy playing with his daddy. Here he is playing "inai inai ba" (pick-a-boo) and "tackle daddy". He just kept tackling Jason and giving him big hugs and kisses! It totally made Jason's day.

I'm a good walker!!

Kai stood up and took his first step by himself on the day after his 1st Birthday. (3/8/2010). After that, he would get up but fall right back down once he took a step. But, with much practice, he learned to take several steps without falling down! It took him 2 weeks. Our baby is growing up!
